Description
Medal issued to commemorate and act as a fundraiser for victims of the 1953 North Sea Flood (in Dutch, “Watersnoodramp”) killing over 1,800 people. The obverse pays tribute to the human tragedy of the disaster while the reverse shows the Biblical dove that brough proof of dry land to Noah on his ark, symbolizing hope.
