Description

Details

Severus II was a partner in the Tetrarchic system of government, where the empire was ruled by two senior emperors, one in the east and one in the west, each with a junior to assist them. He was a deputy emperor to Constantius Chlorus and was forced to fight in a faction against his son, Constantine the Great, when he was proclaimed emperor. He died in the ensuing conflict.
